9653 102 Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alberta
http://noodlemaker.wordpress.com/

Today’s Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of Asian fare at Noodle Maker, located in the Arts District.

Noodle Maker temps taste buds with authentic Japanese and Chinese dishes and spirited interpretations of Thai, Korean, and Indian concoctions. Ignite an evening outing with Korean pickled cabbage, otherwise known as spicy kimchi ($2), or play a quick game of telephone with a braised sliced pig ear ($3.99). The classic ramen bowls bubble between a choice of light miso broth or butter soya soup and delicately engulf the likes of teriyaki chicken ($8.50), tsuke tofu steak ($11), and grilled onion pork tenderloin ($8.50). Shrimp, barbecued pork, and seasonal Chinese vegetables reclaim the three-sided star from Mercedes-Benz in wor wonton ($9), and the spicy neu rou mein ($9.50) elegantly assembles beef brisket and tendon with Shanghai noodles in a five-spice braising broth. Noodle Maker’s cultural rice bowls blend flavours from East and Central Asia with such Epicurean delights as butter goat curry ($10), Thai basil shrimp ($11), and bi-bim-bap ($10), a Korean bowl filled with beef, cucumber, a sunny side up egg, rice, kimchi, and eight maids a-milking.

Quiznos: Mesquite Chicken Sub Price Drop Sale – Save up to $3 Off (Until March 30)

Until March 30, 2011, Quiznos is cutting prices for their Mesquite Chicken Sub! One of my favourites from them, so I am quite happy!

Small – $2.99 ($3 off)
Medium – $4.49 ($2.50 off)
Large – $6.79 ($2 off)
Curious if the size of two smalls would be the size of a large. Since that would only cost $6 ($2.99 each), instead of $6.79. I will have to try it out and report back.

You can use their store locator on their website to find the store nearest you.

Artists Emerge
Arden Theatre:
5 St. Anne St., St. Albert, Alberta
Jubilee Auditorium:
11455 87 Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alberta
http://www.3rdstreetbeat.com/

Today’s Groupon: for $8, you get a weekend pass to the Artists Emerge Hip-Hop Dance Competition on March 18–19, in Edmonton and St. Albert (a $16 value for adult tickets, children’s tickets are regularly $5 dollars).

Dance crews from all corners of Canada’s national discotheque flock annually to Edmonton, called by the siren spins of the Artists Emerge National Hip-Hop Competition. Crews such as perennial winners the Fly Girlz will face off against old rivals White Chocolate and even older rivals, the Frolicking Whigs. This year, celebrity judges include the eminent feet of Boogaloo Sam, the inventor of popping, So You Think You Can Dance Poland/Ukraine/Scandinavia choreographer Gigi Torres, and Super Dave, whose credits include working with Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson, among others. All contestants are legally required to bring the noise, but events are organized by crew size and experience: Saturday, March 18 sees solo dances, duets, and small and large group crews at Arden Theatre in St. Albert, while the Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton hosts extra large groups, pro-crews, and the final showdown on the 19th. Parking at the Jubilee costs $5 during scheduled performances, and the Arden provides a map with select areas of free parking.
