E-Ville Roller Derby formed in 2006 in order to offer women in the Edmonton area an alternative sporting option. Now, they have just been accepted as an Apprentice League with the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), this league include three house teams, one all-star travel team and a “B” level travel team.

In order to keep its rosters stocked with talent, E-Ville introduced its “Fresh Meat” program. Here, members teach newcomers the ins and outs of the game. They school prospective players in skating, game strategy, and teamwork, all of which come in handy on the track so long as one of the opposing players isn’t driving a bulldozer. For those not satisfied with sitting on the sidelines, the program will have a new “Fresh Meat” intake periodically throughout the year; contact the league for further information.
